The Truth About Your WAP (feat. Vanessa McKenzie)

Grab a bucket and a mop, because Vanessa is about to tell you all about the health of your WAP! Evann sits down with Vanessa McKenzie, registered nurse and curator of Your Lady Biz, to talk about women’s sexual and reproductive health.

In 2014, Vanessa got her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University, and shortly after, she became a registered nurse in Detroit Receiving Hospital’s emergency room. While there, Vanessa encountered many women who lacked basic knowledge about their bodies, which then opened her eyes to her true passion: educating women about their bodies and helping to ensure that expectant mothers and their babies remain healthy during pregnancy and thereafter.

Vanessa is currently studying to get her Masters in Nursing with a Nurse-Midwife Specialty, which will allow her to administer services such as gynecological diagnoses & treatment, prenatal care, and childbirth.

In this episode, Evann and Vanessa talk about their foundations when it came to learning about their bodies, healthy menstrual cycles, contraceptives, how to maintain good sexual health and so much more.
